KOREAN WAR | BRICKFILM
This is a short war Brickfilm I made about the Korean War.
It's pretty good, the action is a bit off but still worth watching.
I liked the use of brick-built flares as well as the use of fluffy explosions. It's a bit violent for my tastes, but those specific action effects are nice.
However, it's a bit hard to tell what actually is going on. There are some people shooting at each other, yet it's hard to tell who's on which side. Also, there are several gaps in the sound design that are quite silent. I would suggest in the future putting a little bit more effort into that area. Sure, sound design can take a long time, but it's very rewarding, and really helps to make your film that much better.
You have the basics here but you could also add things like ambient noise such as the sound of nature for wherever they are. If there are lots of people fighting around them, also try adding more sounds of fighting. However, the further away they are, the more muffled and echoey they should be. Also, subtle sounds can be very important, like pulling out a gun or rustles of fabric.
OK Thanks Squid!
Instead of seeing a new film every Friday, as you promote, I'd rather see something that took more time and had a more solid, rather than impressionistic, sequence of events.
